The Scales of Justice

Without both, you cannot balance the scales.

The law alone is not enough. Service alone is not enough. A great judge holds both — in equal measure.

Get to Know Carvana

Experience you can trust. A neighbor you already know.

I grew up in Acres Homes in the eighties (80's) when drugs, prostitution, sexual assault and domestic violence was a reality. As a child, I was also exposed to domestic violence. Together these things were my truth.

My truth explains why I became an attorney and focused on criminal law. In 2005, I started practicing law as an Asst. District Attorney for the Harris County D.A.'s Office. I gained significant trial experience and my confidence as a litigator grew by leaps and bounds. I have tried no less than 37 trials to verdict. I was a felony prosecutor for the majority of my career, so the cases were complex.

My truth is why I opened The Cloud Law Firm and served this community for over ten years as a bilingual criminal defense attorney. In 2008, I launched The Cloud Law Firm P.C. The practice included criminal defense, family, immigration and personal injury matters. The Cloud Law Firm still exists as a full-service law firm located in Acres Homes, where I was born and raised.

And why, when I returned to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, I was appointed the first Black female Bureau Chief in its history — advancing policy on domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking cases with the urgency they deserve.

Appointed Associate Judge of Houston Municipal Courts in March 2025, I now bring two decades of bilingual courtroom experience, leadership on both sides of the bar, and a lifetime of frontline advocacy to this race. The 486th deserves a judge who has done the work — on both sides of the scale. Progressive in heart. Moderate in execution. Absolute in fairness.
